Can I fit my own curtains?
Certainly! We are delighted to sell any of our window furnishings on a supply only basis. When we receive your curtains or blinds from our suppliers, we will let you know and you can either collect them, or have them delivered at a small additional charge.
Is there an adittional charge for fitting the curtains or blinds themselves?
Housing Units only recommend the services of highly skilled installers, whom we have known and worked with for many years. If you would like us to arrange the installation of your purchase, we would be happy to arrange this on your behalf. All installation fees will be paid directly to the technician, and though the exact fee varies due to the complexity of each fitting and the time this takes, a typical cost is approximately £70 per half day.
Will my curtains be lined?
All made to measure curtains can be supplied either unlined or lined in a variety of different materials. Lining a curtain will allow less light through the fabric and will also provide a greater degree of privacy. Lined curtains often hang better than those that are unlined, so please discuss you requirements with one of our friendly, expert staff who will be happy to advise you further.
Can I obtain samples of fabrics or wallpapers I like?
Yes. Most manufacturers are only too happy to send samples of their products directly to a customer’s home. We would be delighted to obtain as many of these samples as you require on request.
How long will my curtains take to make?
Housing Units offers an express service for selected lines, with an approximate lead time of two weeks. Typically, made to measure curtains selected from our extensive sample galleries take 4 weeks to arrive, whilst curtains selected from fabric sample books have a lead time of 6 weeks.
How long does it take to order wallpaper?
Wallpaper can take approximately 7 days to arrive. If the arrival date of your purchase is critical to either complete a project or co-ordinate with your decorator, please discuss this at the point of order and will be able to advise you further as to typical arrival times into Housing Units.
