Please note: Due to the fact most manufacturers of fireplaces, surrounds, hearths, inserts and back panels do not supply fitting instructions, we would always recommend that you employ an experienced, qualified installer when fitting such products. Each installation will vary and specialist expertise is often required to conduct the building work required. Housing Units therefore bears no responsibility or liability for any poor workmanship or incorrectly installed fires and/or fireplaces.
Important Information
It is a legal requirement that your gas fire is fitted by a Gas Safe Engineer, who is qualified to work safely and legally on gas appliances in the UK. For Gas Safe registered businesses in your area visit: GasSafeRegister.co.uk
The sale of gas fires is regulated by the Gas Appliances (Safety) Regulations 1995; by law all suppliers must ensure they supply only gas appliances and fittings that are safe when used normally. As a responsible retailer we will deliver your new fire to you in a sealed box. If this box is opened we cannot accept the fire back if you return it to us, unless your Gas Safe Engineer states in writing that it is faulty.
The item I am considering purchasing says, “ready to deliver in X weeks”. What does this mean?
The product that you are interested in could be made to order, be a bespoke item or is not currently in stock. Our lead times can vary depending on the item or items that you wish to purchase. The “ready to deliver” date is based on information we have received from our suppliers to estimate when we expect the goods to arrive to HU. This date is an approximation and whilst we do everything we can to make sure your order gets to you when promised, sometimes the unexpected can cause a delay. We will contact you with updates as any delays are known to us and in the meantime, you can always get a live update by contacting our Customer Care Team.
When will I receive my order?
Once your order arrives at HU, we will contact you to advise that your goods are ready to collect or to arrange a suitable delivery slot.
Part of my order is available; can this be sent to me?
Your goods will be shipped when all the items on your order are available for despatch.
The item I want to buy says “in stock” when will I receive this?
Our team always endeavour to get in stock items dispatched as quickly as possible working closely with our logistics division and partners. Smaller items will be dispatched via DPD and should be with you within 3-5 working days, larger items can take longer to deliver. Further information on deliveries can be found here: https://www.housingunits.co.uk/delivery-returns
When can I collect my in-stock items?
Please refer to our click and collect page for further information on collecting items: https://www.housingunits.co.uk/click-and-collect
Why are some delivery times later than others?
Here at Housing Units, much of our furniture is sourced from both Europe and the wider world. Our suppliers also depend upon components which often come from overseas. Combined with several ongoing global supply issues, we continue to experience disruptions and unexpected delays (like many other retailers) which are out of our control. As a result, some of our products are taking significantly longer than usual to come into stock at the moment.
Please be assured that we are doing everything we possibly can to resolve any issues as quickly as possible and reduce the impact on you, our customer.
