Twelve days, a score of relatives, a hundred gifts to wrap and a million things to remember, and now six self-contained Christmas decoration themes to choose from thanks to the combined creative and planning power of the design team at one of the UK’s leading home furnishers.
Manchester-based Housing Units has created six Christmas decoration themes to help families make decisions about how their home looks when Santa and the friends and relatives arrive.
“Last year we had several themes – the sales figures say the customer loved them. This year we have six themes. We’ve looked far and wide for the raw material for those themes, and we’ll have more than 4,000 lines as a result,” said Nick Fox of Housing Units.
“They can work whether theming the whole house as one, or different rooms in different ways, but what we found in both 2007 and 2008 was that people really could do with some help with decoration direction, so we experimented with some colour and style-coordinated themes which clearly worked, and which we have expanded upon in 2009.”

The core colours are white and pale blue which offers a clean, crisp and contemporary look. White owls and birds will feature against a backdrop of heavily decorated frosted trees illuminated by static white LEDs.

Seasonal Sparkle takes in black, silver, white plus translucent materials on black trees and then adds LED lights sparkling and reflecting from the metalised decorations.

Red and black and a little bit racey, Boudoir Chic brings a bit of cheeky fun to Christmas decoration.

A taste of elegance, featuring the colours espresso, gold, copper and cream with a hint of silver, plus mirrored baubles. The mocha effect is gained by the use of deep brown shiny and matt glass baubles.

Utilising the core colours of gold and red, and white and red – very much the traditional warm colours of Christmas.

A romantic tasteful style offering sophistication, glamour and luxury, incorporating golds, creams and silvers with hint of chocolate to deepen the effect
